# Staff Guidelines

The following document are a set of rules and conduct that all staff members are required to follow at all times. They are put in place to ensure that our community is a safe, respectful and fair place for everyone. The staff guidelines document outlines the expectations for all staff members, including their behavior, communication, and performance. It also includes information on how to handle various situations, such as disputes, rule violations, or technical issues.

As a staff member, you are expected to read and understand these guidelines thoroughly. By doing so, you will be able to perform your duties effectively and contribute to the success and growth of our community. Furthermore, the guidelines will help you navigate your role and responsibilities, as well as provide you with the necessary tools to handle any situation that may arise.

We take our staff guidelines seriously, and any violation of these guidelines will be addressed accordingly. Therefore, it is crucial that you familiarize yourself with the contents of this document and adhere to its guidelines at all times.


# Section A: Respect

  1. Respect must be shown towards all individuals, reagrdless of rank. Racism, homophobic, discrimination, or any other malicious behaviour will not be tolerated.
  2. Every staff member is expected to conduct themselves in a reasonably professional manner, this includes in any other community, you represent us.
  3. Drama is prohibited at all times, this includes cross-server drama. You must keep yourself out of issues in our server and other servers.
  4. Harassment is prohibited and not tolerated under any circumstances.
    1. This includes sexual and verbal harassment.
    2. Harassing users in different servers is prohibited.

# Section B: Expectations

  1. Discord profiles (usernames, display names, profile pictures, about me's, pronouns, etc) must not contain offense of rule-violating content.
  2. Staff members are expected to be professional and mature at all times, as well as they are expected to follow staff guidelines and guides.
  3. Grammar is required while moderating in-game, this includes mod scenes and modcalls.
  4. Every staff member is expected to meet the set activity requirements, it is a requirement, not an option.
  5. Staff members shall not impersonate other staff members or notable community members at any time.
  6. You are expected to remain active within our Discord Server.
    1. This includes answering assigned tickets within our Discord Server.
    2. This also includes actively communicating within our Discord Server.
  7. You must report any violation of these guidelines, failing to report guideline violations is not permitted.

# Section C: Infractions

  1. Infractions cannot be issued to staff members of the same rank, in this instance, you must report it to the appropriate authority.

# Section D: Power Abuse

  1. Abuse of the power given to you is prohibited under any circumstances.
    1. ex. Punishing people for no reason.
    2. ex. Misuse of commands.
    3. ex. Changing peoples nicknames for no reason.
  2. "Minimodding” and telling other staff members what to do.
    1. If a staff member is doing something wrong, report them.
    2. The only exception to this is if you are Internal Affairs+.

# Section E: General Guidelines

  1. All staff members must set their Discord nickname to their Roblox username.
  2. Asking or hinting towards staff promotions is not permitted at any time.
  3. Distribution of internal assets, documents or systems to people that would not have access to that content is not permitted:
    1. ex. Staff guidelines and documentation
    2. ex. Staff only channels and/or content
    3. ex. Private staff-only systems or operations
  4. You must be entirely truthful during investigations and reports carried out by higher ranks.
  5. You are required at all times to answer any questions by higher ranks, otherwise you will be relieved of your position.
  6. Trolling in-game is prohibited at all times, you will be treated as a regular player and will be subject to administrative action.

# Section F: Moderation

  1. You must clock in when on-duty by using the Melonly moderator panel.
  2. Using commands to benefit yourself whilst in roleplay is prohibited.
    1. You’re permitted to moderate a scene if you have witnessed it.
    2. You must answer modcalls whilst on-duty, they shall not stand untaken for more than 30 seconds.
  3. You must not be AFK (away from keyboard) for longer than 5 minutes.
    1. If you are, you are expected to end your shift and restart it when you come back.
  4. Undercovers are whitelisted and for department members only.
  5. Whilst on-duty staff members must not neglect their duties as a moderator.
    1. Moderator calls must be prioritized over roleplay scenes that moderators are involved in.
    2. Leaving the server without staff members in-game is prohibited.
    3. Send a staff request if you must leave and no staff are in-game.
  6. You must treat the in-game server as an active server at any time.
    1. Playing around and trolling in-game is prohibited.
    2. Moderators must follow all rules and guidelines in-game, regardless of playercount or status.
  7. All kicks are 30 minutes long, make sure to say this prior to kicking.
  8. You are required to use at least four letters of peoples usernames.
    1. This is to prevent staff accidentally running “all”.

# Section G: Administration

  1. You mustn't skip ranks in the Chain of Command, unless it is absolutely necessary.
  2. If you receive a termination, you cannot re-apply until it is appealed.
  3. All SoCal assets, documents, applications, servers, etc, must be in ownership of the Director.
  4. You must not falsify or alter any information or content within our community.
  5. Disclosing and/or sharing information obtained whilst being a staff member is prohibited at all times.

# Section H: Roleplay Communities

  1. You may not backdoor recruit from SoCal members.
    1. Any recruitment of SoCal members will result in immediate exclusion from our community.
